MARQUIS YACHTS
Construction is one area where the style of the Marquis is exceeded only by her substance.
Marquis Yachts are built by an elite, dedicated team of crafts people situated within our extensive Wisconsin (USA) campus. That's right, US-built. This enables us to isolate Marquis and maintain the high standards established for this class. Common resources such as transportation, handling and the indoor test center are shared for maximum efficiency.
Marquis Yachts are built to meet the European Community's Classification A Standard. That makes her one of very few domestic-built brands (that we're aware of) that has this distinction.
Looking good is one thing, but if you have an appreciation for modern yacht-building technology, we know that you'll find Marquis is more than a mere alternative. It's better.
- "U.S. Navy-style" construction where hull and deck plate form the integral structural unit and the superstructure is self-supporting.
- Solid fiberglass hull-bottoms that lower the center of gravity and incorporate Knytex substrates for maximum strength-to-weight and strength-to-thickness.
- Cored hull-sides, with closed cellular urethane foam below the waterline and end-grain balsa above the waterline, add strength and rigidity to the hull.
- Molded fiberglass stringer system. Engine room members are cored with high-density urethane foam to absorb noise and vibration.
- Structural engine mounting that incorporates a lineal span rail system, through-bolted to a stringer member. Multiple-gussetted engine mount plates provide a "wide-stance" for ease of inspection and maintenance.
- All bulkheads are 1" thick and triple-bonded on their circumference creating boxed-beams that essentially extend the stringer systems to structurally reinforce the hull / deck plate unit.
- Deck plate comprised of fiberglass encapsulating 1-3/4" aluminum tubular core members, inset with end-grain balsa coring to provide maximum strength and rigidity. The deck plate is mechanically fastened to the hull and reinforced with fiberglass laminate around its entire circumference.
- The self-supporting fiberglass superstructure has an integrated aluminum truss framework that creates a monocoque system.
- Frameless window systems allow interesting architectural shapes that harmonize with the sculpted fiberglass surfaces. A high performance urethane adhesive/sealant joins the tempered safety glass to the aluminum-reinforced superstructure.
- True yacht cabinetry, built using time-proven methods appropriate for the rigorous marine environment. All cabinetry is custom fit and structurally integrated.
As befitting a world-class motor yacht, the appointments of the Marquis are meant to invite and impress.
Here, the artistry of the craftsman's touch becomes most evident. Premium materials and fabrics combine with hand-crafting skills and soothing dimensions to create an environment that appeals equally to your physical and aesthetic senses.
- Handcrafted fine wood furnishings and cabinetry features an ultra high gloss, jewel-like finish which will only be found on yachts of superior quality.
- Exotic inlaid cabinet tops have an impact resistant, high-gloss finish to withstand daily usage and maintain their beauty.
- Carpentry details such as the custom, hand-fabricated crown and bulkhead mouldings reflect the craftsman's touch.
- Designer selected décor ensembles compliment the color scheme and provide a sense of dignity to the forward surroundings: featuring soft Ultraleathers for the lounges, woven fabrics for the hand-sewn bedspreads, draperies and pillows, and premium wall coverings to improve visual and textural contrast,
- The tailor-fitted soft headliner gives way to soffits that conceal indirect, mood lighting. Overhead accents provide architectural interest and direct lighting. Additional banks of lighting can be controlled with dimmer switches.
- Plumbing and hardware fixtures are imported from Italy, custom-made exclusively for Marquis.
- Contemporary galleys designed for convenient entertaining include stainless steel appliances, abundant storage, and versatile options for the owner’s preference.
- Salon entertainment centers feature a flatscreen television built to durable marine grade standards, as well as DVD and surround-sound stereo systems.
- Pillowtop inner-spring mattresses for a more restful night on board.
- Padded carpeting throughout.
There's an old adage that "the devil is in the details." It's Marquis' passion for the details that makes Marquis Yachts the perfect craft for discerning yachtsmen who care about the finer things. Consider...
- The high quality brightwork. 1-1/4" (O.D.) continuously welded 316 stainless steel rail system is supported by 2-1/2" diameter machined 316 stainless steel billet bases. All stainless work is fabricated by Marquis' own metal smiths. Rail bases are double welded for added security and all welds are polished and lineal-buffed.
- Electronic helm screens included as standard equipment offer advanced technology for monitoring diesel engines.
- The hydraulically actuated, pantographic swim platform allows easy launch and retrieval of tenders and makes a convenient swim step. And, it even has remote controls. A telescoping swim ladder is concealed beneath a hatch for convenient access.
- The walk-in engine compartment that features stand-up headroom. White aluminum perforated panel surfaces, precision wiring and plumbing runs, abundant lighting and polished diamond plate walk surfaces complete this competently finished mechanical compartment. Dual ship's panels allow central control of the propulsion and ship's systems.
- Soundown® high-density engine room insulation minimizes sound migration into the living areas.
- V-drive engine installations receive standard bow and stern thrusters with a wireless docking remote control, providing additional confidence for close-in maneuvering, even in the tightest situations.
